Top 5 things about the Shih Tzu

1) They’re not as yappy as other small dogs.
Although they do like to “speak” it’s nowhere near as annoying as some other small dog breeds which love the sound of their own voices a bit too much.

2) They’re friendly - both towards people and other dogs.
It’s great to have a dog who greets everyone at the park with happy enthusiasm rather then growls. Friends don’t have to think twice before bringing their own dogs with them when visiting you.

3) They don’t need much exercise
They can take it or leave it. They’ll join in the fun and run around like mad if there’s anything interesting happening but they’re quiet happy to just sit around the house all day with you as well. The best of both worlds really.

4) They’re sturdy
You don’t have to be as afraid of your kids (or grandma) accidentally stepping on them or hurting them as they are a bit bigger then other toy breeds and quiet sturdy for their size.

5) They are great companions
You can never be lonely with a Shih Tzu around. If you are in need of some company you can definitely count on them.
